FACILITIES & DIRECTIONS

MCCARTY MEMORIAL FIELD
Located at the corner of Illinois Avenue and Maria Drive, the field is home to the UW-Stevens Point softball team. McCarty Field underwent renovations in 2007 that included new dugouts and bleachers. A new playing surface was also installed.

It is named for Diane McCarty, who pitched two seasons for the Pointers and was killed in a car accident following the 1984 season.

DIRECTIONS TO MCCARTY MEMORIAL FIELD

FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH: From I-39/US 51. Get off at Exit 161 (Business 51 South). Turn Left at the second stop light onto Maria Drive. McCarty Field is three blocks ahead at the corner of Maria Drive and Illinois Avenue.

FROM THE EAST: From US Highway 10. Follow Highway 10 into town. Go one block past Michigan Avenue and turn Right on Illinois Avenue. McCarty Field is six blocks ahead on the corner of Illinois Avenue and Reserve Street.

FROM THE WEST: From US Highway 10. Follow Highway 10 into town. Go four blocks past Division Street (Business 51) and turn Left on Illinois Avenue. McCarty Field is seven blocks ahead on the corner of Illinois Avenue and Reserve Street.

 

MULTI-ACTIVITY CENTER
A spacious 54,000 square-foot facility, the Multi-Activity Center is home to the UW-Stevens Point indoor track and field teams and is used by nearly every Pointer sports team. The facility hosted the 1992 NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships and is frequently used for intramurals and summer camps. It includes four full-length basketball courts and four tennis courts as well as one of the state’s premier climbing walls. The facility underwent a renovation in 2008 that included a new olympic-quality surface on both the track and infield.

DIRECTIONS TO MULTI-ACTIVITY CENTER

FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH: From I-39/US 51. Get off at Exit 161 (Business 51 South). Turn Left at the third stop light onto 4th Avenue. The HEC is one block ahead on the left. Metered parking is available in Lot X, near the corner of 4th Avenue and Reserve Street.

FROM THE EAST: From US Highway 10. Follow Highway 10 into town. Turn Right on Division Street (Business 51 North). Turn Right at the first stop light onto 4th Avenue. The HEC is one block ahead on the left. Metered parking is available in Lot X, near the corner of 4th Avenue and Reserve Street.

FROM THE WEST: From US Highway 10. Follow Highway 10 into town. Turn Left on Division Street (Business 51 North). Turn Right at the second stop light onto 4th Avenue. The HEC is one block ahead on the left. Metered parking is available in Lot X, near the corner of 4th Avenue and Reserve Street.
